Your Complete Guide to Electric Vehicle Charging

About EV Charging Guide

EV Charging (evcharging.blog) is an independent publication helping drivers understand home charging, public charging, incentives and equipment so they can make confident, safe decisions.

Hi, I'm LarryLeo. This site started as my own homework before buying my next car. I wanted honest answers: Is an EV really cheaper to own? What does home charging actually cost? Which charger do I need, and what are the downsides nobody mentions?

Instead of keeping my notes to myself, I turned them into this site. I'm not a salesperson or an electrician. I'm a buyer doing careful research, and I write each guide the way I'd want it explained to me: pros and cons, real costs and where you can save. Each guide lists when it was published, when it was last updated and the sources it relies on.

Follow my progress in the EV decision journal, or work out your own numbers with the savings calculator.

How we research

  • We prioritize primary sources: the U.S. Department of Energy, NREL, the IRS, the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), SAE standards and manufacturer documentation.
  • Product comparisons are based on published specifications and safety certifications. When we have not tested a product hands-on, we say so.
  • Electrical guidance is general information; we always recommend a licensed electrician for installation.

Fact-checking & updates

Every article is reviewed for accuracy before publication and re-checked when regulations, incentives or products change. The "Updated" date on each article reflects the most recent review.
